Bauwerk Limewash Paint Brushes are made from natural fibres specially sourced for limewash paint application.

Their unique bristle structure retains the correct amount of paint and releases it evenly across the surface during painting.

This small tapered brush has a diameter of 16mm and a bristle length of 4cm and is perfect for cutting in corners and small detailed paint work including artistic work such as murals or figurative work.

Delivered brush may vary slightly in design.

Small Tapered Limewash Paint Brush

  • Bauwerk Limewash Paint Block Brushes are designed to hold the paint and release it evenly when painting.

Ordinary synthetic brushes with smooth bristles tend to drip and do not hold much lime paint, making it hard to achieve a nice result.

Bauwerk limewash paint block brushes are made with natural fibres that have serrated, saw-like bristles, that allow for faster application and better spread of the limewash paint.

  • New natural fibre brushes do lose a few hairs, that is normal. Before the first use you may ''break them in'' by brushing them against a course surface with a bit of pressure and then gently tease out any strands that are loose.

Even if you start painting right away you don't have to worry, keep painting and let the surface dry. Any strands will fall off easily with a gentle touch after that. After the first use of your brush almost all loose hair would have fallen out.

  • Fill a small bucket of water and submerge the brush, shake it under the water a few times until most of the colour is out.

The rinse under the tap, always towards the bristle tips, never against it.

Shake out the brush, shape the bristles back towards the centre of the brush and allow to dry upright on a rag.

    • Wash out in water, always rinse towards the tip

    • Do not leave standing in water

    • Shake the brushes out after cleaning and shape the bristles into a regular form

    • Allow to dry upright

With good care your brush will last a long time - you can use it again and again.

  • Especially on coarse surfaces it is best to grip the brush at the body, not so much on the handle. Move the brush at a right angle across the surface, not sideways, so that all bristle ends can do their work.

Do not add too much pressure, let the bristles do their work.

Deep recesses are best painted with a small circular movements.

Do not leave too much paint behind - stretch out the paint further. It is better to apply the paint thin than too thick.

If the surface is very absorbent, use clean water to dampen it until it is easy to paint.

  • Washing out Bauwerk’s limewash paints from your brush is safe, even for your septic system or your garden. It will not adversely affect the environment, as they only use ingredients that are non-toxic and safe for humans and the environment.

Bauwerk limewash paints do not contain artificial nano-particles, solvents, biocides or PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), known as “forever chemicals”.
